As suspected Notch and friends released the 1.7 patch about 30 min ago. Here are the details of what is in the patch:
Minecraft Beta 1.7 1.7: + Added pistons + Fire or redstone is now required to trigger TNT + Fences can be stacked + Added shears + Shears can be used to pick up leaf blocks + Shears can be used to shear sheep without hurting them * Sheep no longer drop wool from being punched - Removed Herobrine

UPDATE: Looks like Notch couldn't leave well enough alone and tweaked something at the last minute so there will be a 1.7.01 out shortly, while your waiting why not watch the latest video showcasing what is in 1.7 from this video from the official Minecraft Youtube Channel!

Looks like Jeb was authorized by Notch to put up a movie of the Pistons and Sticky Pistons that are coming up in the 1.7 Adventure Patch for Minecraft. Unfortunately Minecraft.net is currently down so I can't check their homepage to see if there are any more details but this is what I could dig up so far a 4 min video of the pistons and sticky pistons in action as well as the recipe to make em! These are going to be soooo cool!

Freddie Wong makes some great videos, the special effects and comps are all top notch and he does this on a weekly basis! I'm just amazed at what he can pull off, I'm sure he's got a little help, but still!
Here is his latest offering. Its titled "Arcade Dominator" and he does just that, he goes around and plays all the arcade games and DOMINATES them! Go for the sissy "junior prize"?, hell no, its Major Prize or nothing! This would be perfect in an 80's movie as a training montage. Hehe.
Here is a interesting bit of an idea, allow your fans to pick the songs from a pool of 20, then select the artwork from a pool of ideas based on those songs, and then allow those same fans to earn $1(or a pound as the case may be) if their version sells! Pretty nifty idea if you ask me.
Their "promotional page" lists only the top 5 sellers which I'm sure they've been there for awhile and will likely stay that way, oh well, still a great album though! Apparently they aren't selling it via itunes or amazon either, at least not yet. Again its an idea that seems pretty intriguing to say the least.
