Playing Minecraft Halloween Update LIVE

I'm going to be playing the halloween minecraft update in a min or two here and will be broadcasting it live via justin.tv!  You can watch the feed in the widget below.  Also there is a permanent widget in the right column as well.  (think I'm going with justin.tv vs ustream! quit using justin.tv because their "desktop" app from dyyno expired which they don't tell you until AFTER you install, complete BS, then dyyno wants $199, oh but you get a justin.tv discount for $49, ooo geeze, thanks! I switched to livestreem..., ugh! quit livestream! they would auto play commercials on my page super frick'n loud so f'that! I'm back to ustream which seems is the easiest and most FREE way to decent screencasts along with other media streaming already integrated.
This is so f'lip'n stupid.  Ended up and pony'd up the $50 bucks because ustream connection and quality sucked ass.  So I'm back to justin.tv and have purchsed the stupid dyyno application (what a rip)  So lets try that again shall we!)

GAME ON!

this is my default world not the world that I'm using to show you how to do stuff in minecraft so that's why it looks a bit different!

Minecraft 1.2 The Halloween Update IS OUT!

According to "the word of notch", the dev's blog, the Minecraft Halloween Update is OUT! The client looks like it goes from 1.1.2 to 1.2!  I got single player working fine, but I updated the multiplayer server but it keeps giving me "end of stream" when I try to connect!  Anyone else having multiplayer server issues?  Regardless I know what i'm doing for the next few hours!  Mwhahaha!  New items can be seen at the wiki!

"OMG I think I have to pee and I think I might not make it to the restroom!" *hits button*

*squeal* Dragon's Lair Trilogy For The Wii!

Wow this takes me back to when I was like a kid.  There was a an old "convenience store" called Puff n Stuff located in a not so nice neighborhood and it did sell food, candy, and other "goodies" that catered to a certain type of customer, but it also contained the sole Donkey Kong machine.  I used to play religiously until either I had to go home for fear of my mother calling down to my friends house where I was supposed to be, or until all my pennies I traded in for quarters from my piggy bank was empty, I then would be back at it as soon as I got my allowance.

Minecraft STTNG and ALU

Check out this minecraft video, it shows how large things can be and what one person can achieve in this game is pretty mindblowing.

First up is a one to one scale replica of the Starship enterprise - The Next Generation's Version halnicholas who created this is asking for help in finishing off the decks as what is depicted here is the scaffolding.  He also has up on his youtube site what he wants the interior to look like as a guide of course!

Second is the theinternetftw who created a 16-bit ALU and it performs mathematical functions and is going to be part of a larger project to create a full CPU. Crazy!

So what I'm wondering is where is the 1:1 Deathstar's 1 & 2? Huh? Huh?  Geek Army get right on that!

Looks like you no longer need to have the Wii netflix disc in the console to play netflix streaming movies.  There is an app you download to your console via the Wii Shop Channel.  Of course you still need a netflix $8.99 netflix account but its nice to not need the disc to watch from the Wii!  I thought it was pretty stupid to have to have the disc in to watch anything, it was such as a pain too to have to switch out from Mario Galaxy just to watch a b-movie.

From the netflix website:

The Redshirt v. Stormtrooper Paradox - Your Mind Has Been Blown!

A dead "redshirt", Lt. Leslie (Eddie...Edward O'Conner postulated the Redshirt vs Stormtrooper Paradox that would occur if the two geek universes were to collide in a chance meeting between an away party of Redshirts from Star Trek and a squad of Imperial Stormtroopers.
Taking into consideration the nature of Redshirts in Star Trek(minor characters who usually die quickly after being introduced), the pseudo-philosophical question of "What would happen if Imperial Stormtroopers and Redshirts got in a firefight?" is well-known among fans of both series. It’s a paradox, because even though it’s a redshirt’s destiny to die quickly at the hands of the enemy, Stormtroopers simply wouldn’t be able to kill them due to their poor combat skills.

Let that sink into your grey matter for a second or two.  The stormtroopers would open fire with their blasters but not hit anything, and yet the redshirts would certainly die.  Wait, um, huh, what? *explosion*

Minecraft Creator Podcast On Indie Games

In my recent play sessions of minecraft, sessions 4-6, I mentioned I'd link to a interview podcast with the creator Notch, or Markus Persson as he's known in the "real world".  Its quite a nice little piece from the game site Indiegames.  The indiegames guys ask him what's he's going to do with all of his oodles of cash, what's changed in his life, where minecraft is heading and what the future might hold for both minecraft as well as the creator.  So on to the interview!

The (mis) Adventures of Minecraft! Episodes 4-6

Here are the next four videos for my further (mis) Adventures in the world of Minecraft.  I've also added them to the minecraft playlist for your continuous playback enjoyment!  These videos are up on my youtube channel which can be found here:

PTSuks Uncanny World YouTube Channel

The videos show you how to construct hide armor or metal armor (same recipes just use a different resource), the start of the construction of the "Tower Of Power" (a identifiable landmark that you can use to navigate back to from afar) as well as the horror of falling from said tower, at night with full creature bloom, and then trying to retrieve all the gear that sprang forth from your corpse like a exploded piƱata when you hit the ground! Over and Over.  Its not a pretty site!

So here is the first of the four videos and check out the rest on my youtube channel!  Please let me know what you would like to see in the comments below and please rate and subscribe to the video channel!

Minecraft Additions Coming Oct 30th! Pure Awesome!

Realistic Texture mod for MinecraftImage by weirdo513 via FlickrFrom The Word of Notch, the minecraft developers personal blog states that some nice additions are going to be included around the halloween time frame. The image below from http://minecraft.net/boo/ indicates some of those additions! They've got some nice things planned out! Lanterns are in because torches expire, deeper you go the brighter it has to be, more difficult monsters!  I don't think I can wait until the 30th!

Btw, i'm currently uploading three more videos of my "Adventures In MineCraft Series so look back to this space for an update of when they're posted to the youtube channel!  Or you could always just subscribe to the channel and the website!
